Cheng Wu

Cheng Wu was CEO and co-founder at Azuki, responsible for the company’s vision, corporate strategy and setting the overall direction in the marketplace. Cheng is a successful serial entrepreneur and well-acclaimed industry veteran, having founded and led numerous businesses spanning a range of different industries. Azuki was sold to Ericsson in 2014.

Before that, Cheng served as Chairman of Acopia Networks, a leader in high-performance, intelligent file virtualization solutions, which was acquired by F5 Networks for $210M in September, 2007. Cheng founded and became Chairman of Acopia Networks in December, 2001 after leaving Cisco Systems. He joined Cisco Systems in June 2000 through Cisco’s $5.7B acquisition of ArrowPoint Communications, where he held various executive positions, including Group VP and General Manager of the Content and Multiservice Edge Group (CME). CME’s technology focus was to enable the migration of existing client-server multi-protocol networks toward high value, multiservice (data, voice, and video) architectures capable of supporting the next wave of e-business applications and edge services for Enterprise and service provider customers.

Prior to joining Cisco, Cheng founded ArrowPoint Communications in 1997, where he served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer leading the company to a successful IPO in April of 2000 with annualized revenues of $250M.

Preceding Cheng’s time with ArrowPoint, he founded Arris Networks, a Massachusetts based startup that developed high-density Internet access products that was acquired by Cascade Communications for $217M in May, 1996. He later served as Cascade (now Lucent Technologies) Communications’ Vice President for remote access engineering. 

The highlight of his 20-year career was being named to InteractiveWeek magazine’s “Top 25 Unsung Heroes of the Internet” list in 2000. His better half is Shalin Wu. Bobbie Carlton

Bobbie Carlton, founder of Carlton PR & Marketing, Innovation Nights and Innovation Women, has been called Boston’s Innovation Den Mother, and the Startup Fairy Godmother.  She’s an award-winning marketing, PR and social media professional with a soft spot for the under-served and under-represented in the high-tech community. She speaks regularly on PR, social media, community building, product launches, public speaking and women’s issues.

Previously, in addition to working with a number of Boston-area PR and marketing firms, she headed global PR at Cognos and PTC, both publicly-held enterprise software companies. Connie Dai

Dr. Hitendra Patel

Dr. Hitendra Patel is the Managing Director of the IXL Center and Chair of the Innovation and Growth Program at the Hult International Business School. He has coached new emerging leaders and managers of new and fast growth businesses.

Hitendra was a senior leader and co-founder of Monitor Group’s Innovation Practice and was responsible for Asia and Latin America. Prior to Monitor, he was a senior manager at Arthur D. Little. As a management consultant, he has made lasting impact with all types of companies by helping them identify new engines for growth and develop their own capacity to innovate.

Hitendra has also helped and published articles at the national and region level on the topic of economic development in Brazil, India, Indonesia, Singapore, US and UK.

Prior to consulting, Hitendra worked at Motorola in the portable energy space and is the owner of six patents. He is also a founder of various venture-backed companies.

Hui Lei

Dr. Hui Lei is Vice President and CTO of AI and Data Infrastructure at Futurewei Technologies. Previously he was CTO of Watson Health Cloud at IBM, an IBM Distinguished Engineer, and an IBM Master Inventor. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, a member of the IEEE Computer Society Golden Core, a past Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, a past Chair of the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Business Informatics and Systems, and an inventor of over 90 patents. He has been recognized with the Edward J. McCluskey Technical Achievement Award for "pioneering contributions to scalable access to real-world data." Mingsheng Hong

AI & Big Data Expert, Google

Dr. Mingsheng Hong leads the engineering work of Google's TensorFlow runtime, the AI infrastructure. Prior to this role, Mingsheng worked in Big Data engineering leadership roles at Google, Hadapt and HP Vertica. During his five years at Massachusetts in 2008-2013, Mingsheng was fortunate to volunteer at NECINA and served as its 17th President during the 2012-2013 term.

 

Mingsheng obtained his Computer Science Ph.D. degree at Cornell University, and co-founded the Microsoft CEDR research project, commercialized as SQL Server StreamInsight. Mingsheng has given talks, lectures and demos at industry and academic forums such as TensorFlow Developer Summit, Hadoop World, and Harvard Business School.

John Wang

Dr. Harry Gao

Dr. Harry Gao is the co-founder and President of GNW International, a technology company based in Stoneham, MA. The company focuses on using laser and optical technology for industrial as well as personalized gift market. Dr. Gao has lived in Massachusetts for more than 30 years. Dr. Nancy Li

a Director of Product, a Mentor and a YouTuber

Dr. Nancy Li is a Director of Product, a Mentor and a YouTuber. She was the youngest engineering Ph.D. then transitioned to a product manager.
